About BankMate

BankMate is a free, independent comparison site for Australian financial products. It exists because the figure that matters, what a product actually pays or costs you, is usually buried under marketing.

What BankMate compares

Every product listed is available to Australian residents. The site currently covers 8 categories:

Where the numbers come from

Savings accounts, credit cards, home loans, term deposits and personal loans come straight from each bank's Consumer Data Right (open banking) product feed, the same data the bank is legally required to publish. BankMate re-reads every feed each night, so a rate change on a bank's website appears here the next morning. Superannuation uses APRA's published performance data. Share trading and crypto exchange fees have no regulated feed, so they are read from each provider's pricing page and checked by hand. The full detail is on the methodology page.

How BankMate makes money

Some “Go to site” links are referral links, and BankMate may be paid when you open a product through one. That payment never changes what you see: every list is ordered by the published figure, products without a referral arrangement sit in exactly the same place they would otherwise, and nothing is hidden or promoted for commercial reasons. There is no paid placement and no sponsored ranking.

What BankMate is not

BankMate provides factual comparison, not financial advice. It does not take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Before acting on anything here, read the provider's terms, product disclosure statement or key facts sheet, and consider whether the product suits you.

Corrections and contact

Spotted a wrong figure? Every product card has a “report incorrect data” link that goes straight to the review queue, and corrections are usually live the same day. For anything else, email bankmateapp@gmail.com.
