Brokerage report

Share trading fees in Australia, month by month

Each report is a dated snapshot generated from the same pricing data that powers the comparison: what a share trade costs at three sizes, the all-in cost of a US trade once the currency conversion is counted, interest paid on uninvested cash, the bank-owned brokers against the rest, the joining offers open that month, and every pricing change recorded. Broker prices move a few times a year, so a quiet month says so. Nothing is written by hand, so a figure quoted from a report can be traced to the broker's own pricing page on that date.

As of 17 September 2026, the cheapest brokerage on a $5,000 ASX trade tracked by BankMate is $0 at Betashares, against a median of $6; 2 of 20 brokers charge nothing.
